Yorktown Beach
Located in historic Yorktown, this 2-acre beachfront caters to family fun and provides opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing. A fishing pier and 10-acre grass picnic area are also available. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards and bikes or take a pirate cruise or sunset sail on the York River. The Waterfront offers a free public beach, parking, restrooms and events with nearby unique hotels, bed & breakfast, shops, and riverfront dining. The beach picnic area is open from April through October 19th. The beach and beach picnic area can be requested for weddings, company outings, picnics, receptions, family reunions, and other approved uses.

Yorktown Battlefield
Discover what it took for the United States to be independent as you explore the site of the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. Here at Yorktown, in the fall of 1781, General George Washington, with allied American and French forces, besieged General Charles Lord Cornwallis’s British army. On October 19, Cornwallis surrendered, effectively ending the war and ensuring independence.
